I wrote this poem a while back and it's not much but I sent it in to a poetry contest and it made the semifinals, I'm not sure if it got any farther but I think that you all might enjoy because it is about Lothlorien.
Lothlorien
Upon the boughs of the mellorn trees in winter months shine the golden leaves. In years long passed this land was called The Land of the Valley of Singing Gold, Laurelindorinen in the high elven tongue. But since has dwindled to the Dreamflower, Lothlorien. Swift have the years flown by and upon quick wings comes time to sweep this place away. And only the stars of Varda Elentari are left to watch this land fade. Yet the memory of fair Lothlorien lives within the hearts of those who once dwelt there. And forever preserved will be that memory upon a distant shore, in an undying land called Valinor. Namarie Lothlorien, thout shall never be forgotten. Namarie.
You guys are welcome to give me any suggestions on how to make this better. Until next time, namarie.

Thank you for your compliments everyone. This next poem doesn't have any direct mention of anything LotR or anything like, but it imply's the feelings of Middle-Earth after the elves depart, as told by an elf who has remained behind. Well, here it is.
Home Again
I came back home after many long years. How it has changed I cannot begin to say. Where many beautiful voices like silver could once be heard, now all is still, even the songs of the birds. My people left these lands long ago, and with them went the songs and magic. They left this land for a distant shore, for to them the land was turned old and grey and too full of sorrow for them to stay. How I longed to go with them, but I am still needed in these forsaken lands, and here I shall remain until my task is done. But until then I will come back to this very place to feel the presence of my people, who left their mark upon the land. Their memory remains in this very place I now stand, and in my heart my people live on until the day comes that I can join them on that far away shore.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy my poems. It doesn't take that much time to write a poem the first time, but it's the revisions and rewritting that takes the longest and after that there is still room for improvment. The hardest part though is finding inspiration. I haven't got anymore poems at the moment but once I have another one I'll post for you all. By the way, feel free to post your own poems here.

Eldawen, Your poems are beautiful, just beautiful. Not everyone has the gift of writing poetry, especially long poems.
I could see the imagery descibed by your poems, in my mind.
Please continue to work on another poem.
I hope your are writing and recording your poems in a special book for yourself?

Here is another poem reflecting the feelings of an elf longing for Valinor. Hope you guys enjoy it, and critisism is welcome.
The Sea
The sea calls to me, It calls me back to the shores I left behind So long ago. The thundering waves are but an echo Of my pounding heart when I think of home. And the cry of the gull is like To the cry that reverberates through my soul each and every night.
My tears are as salty as the warm sea air That comforts and caresses me. Standing here beside so wide a sea As the evening light turns grey Makes home seem far away.

I know I seem older than I really am when I type and all that, though I am in real life more mature than most people my age. That last poem was written for an English assignment but I think it turned out pretty good. I have quite a few other poems, but they are more of the depressed poems I write when I'm in a bad mood and have nothing to do with LotR, or else I would post them.
